How often do you need to replace PureSleep?

The manufacturer recommends replacing the device every 6-9 months. However, people who grind their teeth at night may find the unit fails earlier than this due to the extra wear and tear imposed by their teeth. If you grind your teeth, MADs may not be the best anti-snoring option to try. You may have greater success with a tongue stabilizing device (TSD).

How safe is PureSleep?

Dentists have been prescribing devices of this kind for more than 10 years. Mandibular advancement devices are a very safe way to try and stop snoring and PureSleep is approved by the FDA. The thing to remember is you need several real teeth at the front of your mouth (top and bottom) because the front teeth take most of the strain. If you have crowns, partial dentures, or suspect you may have gum disease, it's best to check with your dentist before using mouthpieces or any similar device.

Is it difficult to get used to wearing PureSleep?

Although there may be initial discomfort, the manufacturer claims an adjustment period of only 3-5 nights. However, although moderate soreness to the jaw, gums, and teeth is normal, severe pain and ongoing pain is not. If you experience this type of pain you will need to stop using the device and contact your dentist or physician.

Will it really stop me from snoring?

Presuming the device successfully tackles the reason behind your snoring, it will be a long-term solution. Unfortunately, we are only talking about the technology, not the actual device. MADs have a limited life-span. They are under constant pressure every night and there's a lot of wear and tear. If the PureSleep mouthpiece works for you, you will be looking at replacing the device at least one to two times each year.
