In Depth Mute Snoring Review
Rhinomed Mute is a device you place into your nostrils before going to sleep.
Its presence expands the nasal passages improving airflow sufficiently to significantly reduce the volume of snoring or stop it completely.
Clinical trials show the device can increase airflow through the nostrils by up to 38 percent. However, as with other anti-snoring aids, Rhinomed Mute may work better for some snorers than it does for others.
If you snore because you have difficulty breathing through your nose, Mute Snoring may be an excellent option for you.
Factors that may interfere with nasal airflow include:
- Narrow nasal airways
- Bent septum
- Other forms of nasal obstruction (inflammation etc.)
If you often wake up with a dry or sore throat, it may indicate nasal issues that are causing you to open your mouth during sleep.
What is Mute Snoring?
Rhinomed Mute Snoring is a nasal dilator. Devices of this nature have been around for a long time. The quality and price of the various options can vary wildly.
Some nasal dilators can be very uncomfortable to wear, while others have a tendency to fall from the nostrils during sleep.
Unsurprisingly, the cheapest options generally offer the poorest user experience.
Mute Snoring differs from run-of-the-mill nasal dilators in several ways. The first big difference is the quality.
The material it’s made from is smooth enough to provide a comfortable fit while also being springy enough to ensure maximum dilation.
The device is also designed a little differently than the alternatives are. Firstly, it’s not a one size fits all, nasal dilator.
There are three sizes: small, medium, and large. The other big difference is the unique design of the nasal inserts.
Most nasal dilators consist of two conical nasal inserts that are constructed in a grid-type design that allows the air to pass easily through the inserts. They are only available in one size and adjustment is not possible.
Rhinomed Mute has two looped “paddles” that can be independently adjusted to provide maximum dilation without any sacrifice to comfort.
Who Makes Mute SNoring
Rhinomed is a medical technology company based in Richmond, Australia. It’s active in the US, the UK, and several other parts of the world and is constantly expanding its reach.
Rhinomed is a respected company that specializes in producing products that improve nasal breathing.
Other Rhinomed products include a nasal insert to wear during sport and vapor inhalers that harness the power of essential oils and use them to clear nasal congestion.
Mute Snoring Benefits
- Stays in place all night
- Improves airflow by up to 38%
- Helps you to breath more, snore less, and sleep better
Design & Material
Mute Snoring is made from ultra-soft, medical-grade polymers that do not irritate the nostrils in the same way plastic nasal dilators do.
The small paddle sections have ribbed retention fins that prevent them from moving during sleep or falling from the nose.
Each side can be adjusted separately. This makes it possible to get a perfect fit in both nostrils.
How Does Mute Snoring Work?
That dreadful rasping noise we call snoring is caused by vibrating tissue at the back of the throat.
During sleep, the muscles at the back of the throat relax. This can cause the flesh to sag slightly and obstruct airflow.
To make matters worse, the tongue also relaxes during sleep, causing it to fall backward, further impeding airflow.
The obstruction causes air turbulence. This causes the relaxed flesh to vibrate.
Snoring is worse when you sleep with your mouth open. Any form of nasal congestion or obstruction can cause you to do so, making you more likely to snore.
By helping you to keep your mouth closed during sleep, Mute Snoring allows the air pulled in through the nose to pressurize the airways making the flesh less likely to vibrate.
Seventy-eight percent of the people who took part in a clinical trial found they could breathe more easily while wearing the Mute Snoring nasal dilator.
Furthermore, seventy-five percent of them said they snored less.
The device’s ability to reduce snoring is further backed up by their partners. Seventy-three percent of them reported sleeping better due to the reduction in snoring severity.
Choosing the Right Size Nasal Dilator
There are a couple of things you can do to ascertain the correct size dilator for your nose.
The first option is to download the PDF size guide that’s available on the official Mute website. The document provides three gauges.
In order to use the gauges, you will need to print the document and cut out the gauges.
If you decide to go this route, it may be best to use good quality photo paper because it’s stiffer than normal paper and will offer better functionality.
Cut out the medium-size gauge first. The PDF document provides precise instructions. If the medium size is a good fit, all well and good. If not, you will need to cut out and try another size instead.
The gauges are okay, but a better alternative may be to buy a Mute Snoring trial pack that provides each of the three options.
The Rhinomed Mute website has a useful video that explains how to test the three sizes and see which one is right for you.
Can You Expect Any Discomfort or Side Effects?
Due to the amount of effort the manufacturer has put into the design, and the high-quality of the polymer, discomfort is highly unlikely.
However, some people may require a little time to adjust to the presence of the device because sleeping with dilated nostrils will be a new sensation.
Maintenance Requirements & Product Longevity
The manufacturer states its best to replace the device after 10 nights of use. This will ensure maximum benefits.
However, many customers state they are very impressed with the quality of the material, and of the device in general, and say they use them for longer periods of time.
Mute Snoring Nasal Dilator – Customer Reviews
A few users say the product does not work for them and/or complain about the price. However, most customer reviews are very good.
Mute Snoring appears to be successfully helping many people enjoy a better night’s sleep.

Here is a video of a couple explaining how the anti-snore nasal dilator product worked for them.
Mute Snoring Review – Verdict
There are many different ways to tackle snoring. Nasal dilators are not the right option for everyone but they can be a very good choice for people who snore due to problems breathing through their nose.
Nasal dilators are also less intrusive than mandibular advancement devices (MADs) and certain other options available to people who snore.
If you snore due to difficulties breathing through your nose, Rhinomed Mute is an excellent option.
The design and quality of the product far surpass any of the other nasal dilators available to buy at the present time.
Although many manufacturers have invested their time and money into improving the function of most of the other popular anti-snoring aids, the basic design of nasal dilators is generally the same. For that reason, Mute Snoring is quite a big deal.
Instead of just going with the flow and doing the same as everyone else, Rhinomed has taken the time to look at the downsides of using basic nasal dilators and then make the necessary improvements.
Now Rhinomed has chosen to do things differently, in the future it’s possible other manufacturers may do so too. However, at the time of this review, Rhinomed Mute was easily the best option for anyone requiring the help of an anti-snoring device of this kind.
Does this Anti-Snoring Device Need a Prescription?
You don’t need a prescription to use Rhinomed Mute. It’s a safe and easy-to-use device that’s suitable for snorers from all walks of life.
Where to Buy Mute Snoring and What You Can Expect to Pay
If you are lucky, you may find a local retailer that stocks Rhinomed Mute. However, it’s generally easier to buy one via the official website.
Each box contains three nasal dilators and generally costs $16.99.
If you are unsure about the best size for your nostrils and prefer not to use the print-out measuring device, it’s also possible to buy a trial pack that contains one of each of the three sizes (small, medium, large). The trial pack costs $12.99.
If you use them in the way the manufacturer suggests, each box of Mute Snoring dilators will last for a month.
However, if you buy the trial pack, only one of the dilators will be the right size so a trial pack will only provide 10 nights of anti-snoring support.
