In-Depth TheraSnore Review
TheraSnore is a boil and bite anti-snoring mouthpiece you can buy online and set-up at home.
The mouthpiece belongs to a popular class of anti-snoring aids known as mandibular adjustment devices (MADs).
There are many alternative brands available, some of them quite poor, others very good.
TheraSnore appears to be one of the more durable options.
Information provided at the official product website states the device may last for up two years.
Many alternative MADs often only last a few months. It’s rare to find options that last over a year and this one is backed by a 12-month warranty.
The other thing to know about the TheraSnore is it’s been proven effective in at least one clinical study.
The official website provides a link to a couple of self-hosted documents. I don’t trust self-hosted documents so I searched trustworthy sources for the original studies.
I could only find one of them, but it is available via two reliable sources:
Who Makes TheraSnore
The TheraSnore anti-snoring device is marketed by Tower Health.
It’s a British company, based in Nottingham, that’s been trading since 1999.
The TheraSnore website states this at the top of each page.
Yet the FAQ page states “TheraSnore from Tower Health has been around since 1987”.
That’s confusing, but this product is could be being sold under other brand names and may have been around a lot longer than Tower Health.
The company information and mission statement at the Tower Health website suggests the company is a distributor, not a manufacturer.
“Our product selection panel has carefully chosen products that they believe to be the best on the market today for the health and well-being of our customers.”
So Tower Health is a product distributor. It does not manufacture its products. That’s not a bad thing in itself.
If the product selection panel is doing a good job, the products should do the same. However, it’s also likely Tower Health products may not be unique.
The real manufacturer may be selling the same product to other distributors as well. If so, it’s a case of same product, different brand.

Design & Material
TheraSnore is made of a special type of thermoplastic that makes it possible to contour the device to the top teeth.
This is typical for all boil and bite MADs but it’s normally a similar situation with the bottom teeth as well. With the TheraSnore it is not.
During the initial set up, you place the device in warm water and then bite into the plastic upper teeth tray while the plastic is soft.
This allows the plastic to mold to your teeth.
Normal MADs do this with the bottom teeth too. When you wear them they force the lower jaw forward.
With the Tower Health MAD, the bottom teeth sit in the lower tray but it is not molded to the teeth.
However, the MAD comes in two pieces (top and bottom) and, by separating them and replacing them in five predefined positions, you can adjust the protrusion of the lower jaw.
Tower Health says the lack of a molded lower tray makes the device more comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, some users say it also makes it easier for it to fall out.
How Does TheraSnore Work?
Despite the design differences, TheraSnore works in the same way other MADs do. It aims to reduce or stop snoring by tackling the problem at source.
Snoring is caused by air turbulence at the back of the throat. This causes the soft tissues to vibrate and produce that distinctive rasping noise.
When you are asleep, your lower jaw relaxes. So does your tongue and the tissue at the back of your throat.
In its relaxed state, the tongue drops backward and obstructs the windpipe. The resulting turbulence makes the soft tissues vibrate.
Normal MADs lock onto the upper and lower teeth. They are set in a position that forces the lower jaw forward.
The jaw pulls the tongue with it. This opens up the windpipe to prevent turbulence and snoring.
In this case, though, the lower tray is not locked to the lower teeth. It only sits over them.
This is likely to make it somewhat more comfortable to wear but it’s not surprising so many people say this MAD is more liable to fall out.
TheraSnore Customer Reviews
TheraSnore customer reviews are pretty much an even mix of good and bad. Unless you check the ones on the official site.
All of those are good. I prefer to put my trust in less biased sources. I’m sure you do too.
Let’s take a look at a couple of examples.
Can You Expect Any Discomfort or Side Effects?
Due to the way they work, all MADs have the potential to cause jaw pain, headaches, and other undesirable side effects.
Especially in the early stages of use. However, the average MAD user says these are problems that become less of an issue over time.
Despite it being designed to be more comfortable to wear, TheraSnore still appears to cause some people to experience such problems.
There are also reports of it being hard on the teeth and gums.
Therasnore Review Summary
Tower Health says TheraSnore is the world’s no. 1 anti-snoring device. I say prove it.
I’m guessing if the company could do that the proof would already be available on its site and it’s not. Either way, countless MAD manufacturers make the same claim.
Under one name or another, it seems probable this MAD has been around a long time. The claim that it hails back to the 80s is probably true.
Although some customers report experiencing negative issues while using this MAD, you need to bear in snorers using other brands of MAD often report negative issues too.
MADs are a type of anti-snoring device that can work incredibly well for some people and be totally unsuitable for others.
There two main types of MAD. The first type is adjustable, the second (Fixed) is not. Fixed MADs are more common.
Unless you have skipped sections of this review, you will be aware TheraSnore is an adjustable MAD.
Adjustable devices offer an advantage for first-time users because you begin with minimal jaw inclination and then move forward slowly as you become accustomed to the device.
The fact that it’s an adjustable MAD is a point in the TheraSnore anti-snoring mouthpiece’s favor.
Whether the lack of a molded lower tray is a bonus or a pitfall is open to debate.
The fact remains, around 50 percent of customers (who leave a review) appear to be very happy with TheraSnore and a similar number of customers do not.
If you have a problem with snoring and need a good anti-snoring device to help put things right, the TheraSnore may work for you.
Then again it may not, but it’s relatively cheap and lasts longer than average MADs.
It’s certainly a respectable contender and may help you win your fight against snoring but it could just as easily let you down.
Fortunately, if you want to try it, TheraSnore has a money-back guarantee.
TheraSnore has a money-back guarantee but its duration is uncertain.
If you visit the TheraSnore website’s FAQs page, you will find an emblem that states there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee. The information written on the same page says 60 days.
If you check the terms and conditions page on the same site, you will find it states the guarantee period is 60 days as well.
TheraSnore also appears to have a 12-month warranty.
The Warranty details suggest you can get a free replacement if the device malfunction during its first year. The warranty does not apply if the unit becomes damaged due to misuse.
However, the warranty details appear to be talking about an electrical product. TheraSnore does not require electricity.
Where to Buy TheraSnore and How Much It Costs
Tower Health appears to be mostly active in the UK but international shipping is available to customers who buy from the official site.
Snorers in the UK have the option of buying the product via Amazon and many other online retailers as well.
If you buy via Amazon, the unit will cost around £50 (USD 65).
If you buy via the TheraSnore website you will pay £10 (USD 13) more but will also receive an 8-month supply of cleaning tablets free of charge.
It’s also possible to buy via the Tower Health website.
The price there matches the price at Amazon, so the cleaning tablet offer is an upsell disguised as a free gift.
