DAWN™ Youth fact & figures
Two surveys were conducted targeting one of the three populations:
- young adults with diabetes ages 18 to 25 years
- parents or caregivers of at least one child or adolescent with diabetes (aged between 0 and 18 years)
- health professionals who provide care to young people with diabetes
The DAWN™ Youth programme comprises data collection from 2 surveys carried out in 2007: the Fact-finding study and the WebTalk.
The WebTalk involved 8 core countries (Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Holland, Spain and the US). It represents the attitudes wishes and needs of close to 7.000 interviews with health care professionals, parents and young people with diabetes.
The Fact-finding study aimed to benchmark national guidelines and strategies for children with diabetes. This study involved 24 countries (Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Holland, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK, US and Ukraine).
