5th International PSAD-DAWN meeting
Training of healthcare professionals in diabetes psychology - a key topic of the PSAD-DAWN Meeting
In connection with the 14th spring meeting of PSAD study group (PsychoSocial Aspects in Diabetes) the 5th international DAWN day was held for diabetes psychologists on April 24th, 2009 in Croatia.
The aim of the DAWN workshop was to discuss training of healthcare professionals in diabetes psychology and integration of psychosocial assessments in diabetes care for improved clinical care. Presentations and workshops were focusing on the requirement of skills for the HCP team, referral options and pro’s & con’s of monitoring well-being in diabetes including sharing of better practices. Input will be used to further extend and enhance the implementation of the DAWN MIND Programme.
The PSAD study group is an official study group of the EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes). PSAD was initiated with Novo Nordisk and has been exclusively supported the past many years via the DAWN programme. Proceedings are published in Diabetologia.
