New US website personalises approach to managing diabetes using the DAWN learnings
To help ensure a patient-centered approach, Novo Nordisk updated the Changing Life With Diabetes site using findings from the Diabetes Attitudes Wishes and Needs (DAWN) survey. The findings, and input from Mark Peyrot, Ph.D., an expert in the psychosocial aspects of managing diabetes, were instrumental in the update of the site. “We’re delighted to introduce the new Changing Life With Diabetes website to bring to life what we’ve learned from DAWN,” said Susan Rago, associate director, patient services and professional relations.
Visitors to the site can take advantage of a number of tools to learn about and manage their diabetes, such as an interactive diabetes care plan and tools to help identify personal barriers to diabetes care and alleviate fears regarding advancing to insulin therapy. To help healthcare providers become familiar with the site and feel comfortable referring their patients, links to the site are provided from NovoMedLink and Changing Directions With Diabetes, resources for physicians and diabetes educators, respectively.
