From Insights to Action

A truly person-centred approach starts by listening to the voice of people with diabetes and those who support them including family, friends, healthcare, work, school and society.

The DAWN2™ study takes a 360° view of diabetes care by assessing needs and opportunities within each area of support as illustrated in the DAWN™ Care Needs Model.

With point of departure in the findings from the DAWN2™ study more than 250 people with diabetes, family members, healthcare professionals, diabetes experts and policy makers were gathered at the 5th International DAWN™ Summit to commit to partnership action, and identify positive steps for making person-centred diabetes care a reality for all.

The DAWN™ Care Needs Model summarizes the outcome by highlighting insights, tips for action and inspirational steps that each of us can take to help improve the lives of people with diabetes.
