Go-live of a new global direct to patient support website
New patient support platform is to provide people with diabetes world-wide with empowering self-management support
End of September a new global direct to patient support website went successfully live with the aim of making innovative tools and empowering diabetes knowledge available to healthcare professionals and people with diabetes.
The purpose of the new global patient support platform is to provide people with diabetes world-wide with empowering supportive self-management support which takes into account the psychosocial issues identified by the DAWN study.
Two key programmes on the website have been developed by the DAWN working group in close collaboration with key experts within diabetes education and psychology. The first programme is called "A good life with diabetes", and is aiming at helping people with diabetes cope with stress and negative emotions that may have a negative influence on their daily behavior. The second programme is called "The insulin interview" and is aiming at helping people with diabetes to better deal with concerns or fears about starting insulin.
